The Taper:
I digitized my master tape per special request of an old trading buddy and could not let this go unshared with more people.
Some of the old tape traders may still have this on cassette.

Many thanks to Fred Romero for the inspiration.
This is also my first Bowie gig (barring Elephant Man in Chicago) and the first time I ever taped him.

The results were quite good, considering where I taped from. This had been the second attempt at taping a gig with this recorder; the first had been The Cure at San Diego Sports Arena, which had come outcompletely blank!
Approximately 20 years ago my master of Tape 1 had been eaten. This can be heard in Absolute Beginners and Big Brother. For some time I was trading from 1st generation copies. But for this torrent, everything is from the master and all glories to God for no further damage. This had not been taped from close-up, but the end result is still enjoyable; I’d rate it an 8 conservatively.

I did not allow for tape flips because I wanted the songs to be complete as possible. The recorder was switched off at the end of Rebel Rebel to flip the tape and the spoken intro to Fashion is cut. Sons Of The Silent Age fades in and the applause at the end of Time is cut off. Also, the beginning of Blue Jean has been clipped. The fake clapper immediately to my left is hard not to notice; I’m not sure he really wanted to be there.

Whatever part of the the soundcheck I managed to tape is included as a optional bonus.
