A very powerful recording Bowie vocals up front, a very enthusiastic crowd and on some occassions Bowie speaks to the crowd in Japanese
The announcement and the countdown to Look Back in Anger are done in Japanese and after “Heroes” Bowie speaks some Japanese and greets the enthusiastic audience. Much hysterical,ear-piercing screaming, typically Japanese, which imparts quite a particular sound to these Japanese tapes. At the end of the first part there are announcements in Japanese and English saying there will be a fifteen minutes’ interval.
When Bowie introduces the band he can’t think of the Japanese names for the intruments,so he points out each musician, and names him.
The first concert of the Japanese tour, and also the first of four nights in Budokan
