lot of dancing in a wonderful show
Bowie joked a great deal with the band, and during Stay he made a fool of Earl Slick:
Slick was playing a solo and Bowie was leaning on the piano, talking to David Lebolt. They laughed about Slick who kept on looking over his shoulder to Bowie for a sign to end his solo. Bowie gave the sign and walked over to the microphone stand. Slick, thinking that Bowie would start singing, ended his solo, but then Bowie stepped back to the piano again! So Slick, all confused, had to resume his solo again! Bowie and Lebolt laughed.
During this concert Bowie did an enormous lot of dancing and at the end he was quite exhausted, so that in Modern Love his singing was rather poor, which also holds for his saxophone solo, but it didn’t matter, for it had been a wonderful show
